*Changing key bindings by editing the source and recompiling counts as a "No."
**I'll try to include the memory usage of any expected secondary apps such as clocks, pagers, and biffs.

Other stuff I'll try to report on if I can find the answers easily (and these things are here because it usually isn't) are:

  • unusual dependencies (define "unusual" ...)
  • language it's written in (if it supports scripting in another language, list that too)
  • icons on desktop?
  • mouse clicks on desktop do what?
  • desktop menu?
  • NETWM, ICCCM, EWMH, Motif, GNOME compliance (text)
  • window iconization/minimization?
  • Effects?
  • vi or emacs (keys similarities)?
  • tabs and/or grouping?
  • tiling?
  • viewport?
  • icon bar? (usually but not always part of taskbar)
  • launcher?
  • window lists?
  • pager?
  • Slit/Dock?
  • Distros? - as in "this WM is distributed with ..."
Documentation
How good is the documentation?
Window Decorations
Are there any? Can the windows be shaped?
Themes
Is it themeable? How much so?

Discussion

My opinions of and experiences with the WM. What's good and bad about it. If you're curious about the name I chose for this imaginary Window Manager, it comes from my favourite secondary character ever, Batô in "Ghost in the Shell" (and yes, I know he has the lead in the sequel).
